Just In: ECG announces power outage for these areas today – check out full details.
After declaring an 8-day power fluctuations in parts of the country capital, the Electricity Company of Ghana has again given an emergency notice today Thursday, May 20, 2021.
According to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) it will be undertaking an emergency maintenance in some parts of Accra today.
The exercise is scheduled to start at 10:00am and end at 4:00pm. Affected residence are advised to cooperate with the process as it is geared towards their own benefits.
The information cames after the ECG, together with the Ghana Grid Company Limited, gave a firm assurance to end the recent load shedding programme in some parts of the Greater Accra Region.
Despite all these current happenings, the Electricity Company of Ghana(ECG) had earlier on announced an increment in the power supply Levy. This they said was to assist in certain needed activities for the provision of sufficient power to all Ghanaians.
Meanwhile some Ghanaians had objected to that directive. A lot of them believe that the tariffs should rather be decrease giving reason such that, equipments were destroyed by the “dumsor” exercise, work output was decline and others.
With that being told, the Electricity Company had urge the general public to bare with them as they work towards achieving a sustainable power supply to the entire country.
The earlier 8-day power fluctuations saw a grouping of the affected areas into four different categories, labeled A-D.
Sone of the Areas within these groups were Lower McCarthy, Mallam, Gbawe, Agape junction, Bubiashie, Demod, Abossey Okai, Santa Maria, Bortianor, Red Top, New Aplaku, Mataheko, Dansoman SSNIT Flats, Glefe, Nyanyano, Nyanyano Kakraba, Iron City, Breku and Tuba among others.
Meanwhile below are the affected areas as ECG serves ‘dumsor’ notice today:
The areas to be affected by the power interruption are Amasaman, APC, Medie, Capital Hill, Asofa, Agya Appiah, John Teye, Ofankor, Fise, Pokuase Estates and parts of Tantra Hill.
