Cardi B said this about Akuapem Polo’s sentence that has caused traffic on Twitter.
Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar who I popularly know as Cardi B has reacted to Rosemond Brown’s been convicted over taking naked picture with her son.
Akuapem Poloo, as the actress I popularly called, was sentenced to 90 days in prison for the act which generated a lot of controversy on social media when it first surfaced.
Speaking about the issue, Cardi B said the punishment was quite harsh for such an act which she supposed is seen on regular basis from different parts of the world.
Cardi B’s tweet was following a Twitter post by Afromusik which tagged her, seeking her opinion on the trending issue in Ghana.
“To@iamcardib your twinee in Ghana, Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to 90 days imprisonment for posting naked photos together with her son on her son’s birthday in June 2020. what is your take on this Cardi????”
Meanwhile the Apesemakahene of Mampong Akwapim, Nana Yirenkyi I, has urged Ghanaians not associate jailed celebrity Akuapem Poloo with Akwapims because she is not one.
In his explanation, he said after having an encounter with the celebrity, “she didn’t prove to me that this is the town that I am from”.
“She told me she would come back again but here we are. So for me I can say that we should understand that she is a Ghanaian. She is our sister and when our own Ghanaian sister is going through trouble we should feel the pain.
“We should remove the ‘Akuapem’ name from her name because for me to tag that Akuapem people are happy or not [is neither here nor there].”
Cardi B on the other hand has said that if there was supposed to be any form of punishment at all, Akuapem Poloo could have been tasked to perform community service or given a social media probation.
According to the American born rapper, Poloo’s picture was not depicting sexuality in any form but rather the natural bond between a mother and her child, which she believes is normal.
“I seen a lot of Americans do photoshoots like that .Even tho is not my style I don’t think she was going for sexual more going the natural idea.I think jail is a bit harsh .Maybe social media probation or community service,” Cardi B’s tweet.

14. The 90 days jail sentence is even as a result of Ghanaian celebrities pleading for justice to be tempered with mercy, If not so she would have been sentenced for a longer period.
15. She is already done with a day , lets allow her to finish with the rest 89 days
16. Wow, learn something new everyday, in Ghana you can go to jail for taking a nude photo with your child and they have no community service.
