‘I was ignorant, I won’t repeat my action’
After her bail, Rosemond Alade Brown, famously known as Akuapem Poloo, has spoken amid the incident that landed her in jail.
Poloo was arrested but on Wednesday, April 21, an Accra High Court granted her bail at GH¢80,000 with two sureties, peding an appeal by her lawyer Andy Vortia.
Having been granted bail after getting a 90-day jail term for publishing a photo of herself posing naked in front of her son, she urged the public to refrain from emulating her deed.
She said to have deeply regretted her actions and vowed not to indulge in such again. According to the mother of one, she has learnt a great lesson within her two days in jail.
Meanwhile she had also expressed her appreciative to President Akufo-Addo, the Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame and all persons in and outside the country who supported her release from the Nsawam Prison.
Her profound gratitude also went to her fellow celebrities who Champaign in the #FreePoloo and also to the media houses as well as some bloggers.
Some Ghanaians are anticipating that following her gratitude to the President it could possibly be that the President Akufo-Addo might have had a hand in her released, although this claim is not substantive.
That notwithstanding, Akuapem Poloo further pledged to distance herself from any of such action that landed her in jail, in the future.
She also claimed to have had no bad intentions following her action, while she further urged the general public to refrain from any such action that may be tantamount to breaking any law. She however emphasis on advising nudist in the country to be courteous and vigilant.
“I didn’t know that taking a photo with my son in that manner would put me in trouble. I didn’t know it wasn’t a good thing. Please have mercy on me and forgive me. I didn’t do that intentionally. I want to urge my colleagues and young people too to desist from such an act, especially all forms of nudity. We need to put a stop to it. It is not good,” she stated.
Meanwhile the BBC had broadcasted Poloo’s press conference which was held on Saturday, April 24, 2020.
