G/A: Korle Bu doctor allegedly poisons colleague’s water with HIV blood –[Read full story]

It is quite sad how the actios of some people are. Meanwhile karma is real and what ever you may thought of doing to a colleague may also have certain implementations on you.

A doctor at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital(KBTH) has allegedly contaminated his colleague doctor’s drinking water with HIV-infected blood.

Both doctors work at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the hospital.

The Korle Bu District Police Command indicated that at about 11:30 a.m. on May 6, 2021, “a medical doctor, accompanied by the lawyer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), Mr Kwame Gyamfi, filed a complaint at the charge office of the police station regarding an attempt to poison the doctor’s drinking water.

The medical doctor told the police that he was on a 24-hour duty with six other doctors at the Labour Ward One of the hospital.

After his busy schedule, he returned to his consulting room only to found out that his drinking water had turned into something else. This alarmed him to clarify what that may be, and to his surprise he found out that the water was contaminated.

Meanwhile the Korle Bu Police are investigating a case involving the contamination of a medical doctor’s drinking water with HIV-infected blood to ascertain any relevant information in other to take the necessary actions.

According to information received, the victim has had some sort of disagreement with the suspect which might have contributed to such incident.

The victim suspected that his water had been contaminated after he found a reddish substance which appeared like blood in the water.

After a laboratory test, it appeared that the blood was HIV positive.

This made him filed a case to the Korle Bu district Police with his colleague as the suspect.

Meanwhile Police are currently under investigation amid the case at hand.

Statistics that prove that Chelsea are potential winners of the UEFA Champions League this season.

The champions league final which is scheduled for an all English side Chelsea and Manchester City is to be played in Istanbul. The Turkish capital is due to ease restrictions soon and UEFA have committed to holding the game there.

The sporting body hope 4,000 tickets can be secured for the two finalists with the aim to fill the stadium’s 75,000 capacity of 50 per cent.

Meanwhile a concern body suggest that the game be move to England since both teams are in the country and also due to the coronavirus restrictions on Turkey at the moment.

Goldstein, has given his thought on the reason why they believe the game be moved to Wembley.

“This game is scheduled to be played in Turkey, which at the moment is in lockdown.

“I understand that they will be coming out of lockdown, hopefully, just under two weeks before.

“If UEFA have got any common sense they will move this game to Wembley. Two English sides and in COVID times, this game shouldn’t be in a country hit so badly at the moment.

Should the Champions League final be moved to Wembley;

“After the year we’ve had where everyone has been in lockdown and has been awful, we could play this game at Wembley with 25 per cent capacity and you’d have two English sides at Wembley.

“I know the people at UEFA aren’t necessarily listening to this show… some might… but someone at UEFA with a little bit of common sense have got to get this game moved to Wembley so the Man City fan, the Chelsea fan have a chance of going to see this final.

“It has to be played over here.

“It makes too much sense. It’s an argument that has few flaws in it.

“I can’t argue with that. UEFA will have their reasons to say no, but it makes too much sense.

“I am not afraid, I am not worried”.

Radio host Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart was suspended some few days back by Angel FM for allegedly repeatedly slandering government officials including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Veep, Dr Bawumia.

Recounting the events that led to his one-month suspension from the radio station, Captain Smart said his suspension letter signed by Dr Kwaku Oteng directs him to go off air for using harsh words on government officials including President Akufo-Addo, the Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh.

According to source, he[Captain Smart] was on numerous occasions advices by Dr Kweku Oteng to refrain from making such abusive comments about government officials.

In his[Captain Smart] statement, he had been engaged in an earlier conversation with Dr Oteng, who denied the concerns but when he started the show on May 6, 2021, he was called to go off the air and that was the start of his suspension.

“Well, the letter (suspension letter) says that I have been too hard on Nana Addo, the Vice President… They said I have been using some harsh words on the President, the Vice President and then the IGP and that he’s called me on several occasions to stop those things and I am not stopping and for that month I should proceed on suspension for one month…,” he said.

In accordance to the directives of the letter, he is supposed to resume work on June 4, 2021.

“I am not afraid, I am not worried, I am not perturbed, I am not disturbed, I am a happy man, I am enjoying my family and the 30 days they say I should stay home, thank God man…”.

Mixed reactions from Instagram after pastor had cursed congregation.

She threw an outstanding party to mark her birthday which her congregants attended.

A female pastor has hurled curses at her congregation over their failure to contribute money for her birthday celebration.

In her address to the congregation, she expressed her profound pains as a result of the alleged actions put up by the congregants during her birthday. She labelled them as devils, adding that God will punish them.

According to her the members disturb her with their prayer requests all the time but has failed to honour her on her birthday due to, “their selfish behaviour.

It may sound a little outrageous though but she massively criticized her followers in such a manner that has caused traffic of comments from some Ghanaians.

To her, the reason why most men of God do not give all of themselves to the church is due to some ungrateful acts like this[her incidence] from the congregation.

Meanwhile some members of her church did contributed towards the party. She said that even those who did not contributed anything were the ones who eat a lot at the party and even bagged some of the food home.

“…they ate like pigs and took away takeaways in addition.

Below is an except curbed from her statement;

“…even on my birthday some of you refused to contribute, may God punish you because you are wicked. Unless you don’t have. Some of you come to my office to disturb me with prayers but you don’t want to give money to celebrate pastor’s birthday. I will say it.

If you’re angry, change. Because if it was you and they come to me I’ll give freely because you are a member and so I will look after you but when it comes to your pastors, you are selfish. You are only thinking about yourself.

If you’re sitting here and you cannot pay something towards your pastor’s celebration or your pastor’s whatever, why are you here? You’re a devil. And this is why pastors are bitter.

Some reactions from Ghanaians following the incident;

“It’s only in Ghana

“She’s MAD

“If that is how God punishes, nobody will remain on Earth

“All these razz pastors that enters the ministry just for money sake

“Where Desmond Elliot dey, come and see your pastor

“Wahala for who no donate for birthday

The facts and data speak for themselves.

Good News for all National Service Personnel as April allowance has been paid.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) has released payment for April allowances for all of its members.

According to NSS, the release was made today May 6 after making all due processes on the dashboards of personnel.

In a statement released by the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) Accra Metropolitan District, there are certain factors that could linger the delay of a personel’s allowance. Factors such as late submission of evaluation forms and other stuff could contribute to one’s misfortune.

For that and some other reasons, the Scheme had earlier on entreat its members to submit their forms to the district as early as possible within a time frame.

Meanwhile the district would have to forward the forms before members within that district could receive their due renumeration for every month. Most times the challenges occur during the processing of the evaluation forms by personnel as they sometimes do not print the forms on time. It could also be linked to access of the patron’s signature.

In all these challenges, the NSS had made this year’s processing of evaluation forms so easily and permissible. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, the NSS gave directives to all personnel that, it will do an automatic evaluation in their respective portals without them going through all the processes. This they said was to curb the mass gathering of personnel at their respective district offices which was in line with the coronavirus restrictions.

Meanwhile personnel are advised to visit the nearest banks to upload their April allowances from today. They are also to report to their respective districts, any challenges that they may be facing in the retrieval of their allowances.

Below is the statement released by the NASPA Greater Accra Metro.

Political

I found John Dramani Mahama’s message to Akufo-Addo very helpful (Opinion)

It is obvious that Ghanaians have adapt the mentality that political opponents hates each other in their effort to undertaking their political duties. But I personally disagree with that ideology.

This could be a little obvious but there is a clear indication in this article that our leaders in the political society understand themselves and care for each other despite the many argument that we hear day-in-day-out.

Recently the former President John Dramani Mahama wrote to the sitting President and the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Akufo-Addo, which got my attention to delt a little deeper and try to ascertain some elements of mutuality and cordiality.

Mr John Dramani Mahama urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to be more tolerant of dissenting views from media houses and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer for the 2029 general election, John Mahama, he believes the media should be given a place within the democratic jurisdictions of the country to express its views and aspirations judiciously.

“I want to encourage President Nana Akufo-Addo and his close associates to seize the occasion to create an atmosphere that is more tolerant of criticism and devoid of intimidation in order for the media, CSOs and individuals to freely express themselves and contribute to national discourse.”

In 2019, we saw Ghana declining as one of the best-ranked countries for press freedom according to the “Reporters Without Borders” rankings.

Meanwhile the press was doing some marvelous job along the lines. But statistics showed that the drop was due to the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale earlier in 2019.

The drop meanwhile was from 23 to 27 worldwide. This wasn’t too bad enough though but a drop is still not in a positive direction.

Mr Mahama’s concern is such a commendable one but better still some action and attitude of some media personnel in the cause of deploying their duties are so scandalous and shouldn’t therefore be apprehended in any way.

Notwithstanding the countries decline on Reporters Without Borders , some Ghanaians believe that the closure of radio stations by the government further suppresses media freedom in Ghana.

The shut down of Radio Gold and Radio XYZ which belonged to the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in 2019 was some of the citizens concern.

Meanwhile the National Communication Authority (NCA) also suspended the authorisation of Radio Tongu in 2020, “on the grounds of national security and the public interest.

The latest shut down exercise saw more than 40 television stations being denied transmission due to unauthorized way of transmission.

Fire Outbreak

US: Woman sets fire into her home burning one person while watching.

One thing that may cross the mind of any lone reading this article is, “this is total wickedness”.

A woman is charged with setting fire to her home with a person inside while watching it[the house] burn from a chair in front of the house.

The victim’s sister reported that, someone tossed a trash can on the stairs blocking her path to get out.
“She almost burned to death in that house, and I’m just really thankful she’s okay,” said Bernal, “When she was talking to me, she said, ‘Pat, it burned my hair. It singed my hair, and he lost everything,” she said.

Meanwhile report showed that witnesses heard a screaming female in the basement of the burning home in Elkton and helped her out of the house.

some text description

The victim 52-year-old Blenda Holbrook finds herself trapped in the basement before a pair of men pulled her from a window.
Meanwhile investigation proves that, a 47-year-old Gail Metwally, could be a possible suspect.

“The 911 caller stated that she actually went inside the house, set multiple items, multiple fires inside the house,” said Sr. Deputy State Fire Marshal Oliver Alkire, “She then exited the house and proceeded to sit on a lawn chair where she actually watched the fire spread throughout the house,” a statement from the fire service unit.

Report says that the accused had recently returned to the home after being confined elsewhere for mental health issues and repeated pleas to authorities in recent months to address her ongoing behavioral issues had gone ignored.

“During this COVID, they were renting a room from him from what I understand, and he couldn’t put her out, because of COVID, but what does it take?” asked Bernal, “I’m just really thankful to the two guys that helped her out of that basement, because I don’t think she’d be here today if they hadn’t helped her,” Bernal said.

Be tolerant of criticism from media, CSOs – Mahama to government

Former President John Dramani Mahama has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to be more tolerant of dissenting views from media houses and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), as the world marks World Press Freedom today – Monday, May 3, 2021.

“I want to encourage President Nana Akufo-Addo and his close associates to seize the occasion to create an atmosphere that is more tolerant of criticism and devoid of intimidation in order for the media, CSOs and individuals to freely express themselves and contribute to national discourse.”

John Mahama

Reporters Without Borders in its ranking released in 2019 saw Ghana losing its spot as one of the best-ranked countries for press freedom.

The drop was attributed mainly to the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale earlier in 2019.
Globally, the country dropped from 23 in 2018 to 27 in 2019.

Apart from Ghana’s performance on world rankings, some have suggested that the closure of radio stations by the government further suppresses media freedom in Ghana.

In 2019, two media houses affiliated with the National Democratic Congress(NDC) – Radio XYZ and Radio Gold were shut down for various infractions.

The NCA also suspended the authorisation of Radio Tongu in 2020 on the grounds of national security and the public interest.

The decision led to an unspecified number of arrests and the seizure of equipment after the Tongu Community Multimedia Network (Radio Tongu) in the Volta Region “illegally” resumed operations.
