Drop some pressure and laugh aloud with the others.

A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband opening  the front door.  “Hurry!” she said, “Stand in the corner.” She quickly rubbed baby oil  all over him and then she dusted him with talcum powder. “Don’t move  until I tell you to.” she whispered. “Just pretend you’re a statue.”  “What’s this, honey?” the husband asked as he entered the room. “Oh,  it’s just a statue.” she replied nonchalantly. “The Smiths bought one  for their bedroom. I liked the idea so much, I got one for us too.” No  more was said about the “statue.”  Around two in the morning, the husband got out of bed, went into the  kitchen, and returned with a sandwich and a glass of milk. “Here.” he  said to the ‘statue.’ “Eat this. I stood like an idiot at the Smith’s  for three days and nobody offered me so much as a glass of water.”

The Next Day – Conversation between husband and wife.

Husband: You always carry my photo in your handbag to the office. Why?

Wife: When there is a problem, no matter how impossible, I look at your picture and the problem disappears.

Hubby: You see, how miraculous and powerful I am for you?

Wife: Yes, I see your picture and say to myself, “What other problem can there be greater than this one?”

Meanwhile the conversation led to a break up so the woman had to marry again but her husband was abusive. She got remarried and that husband ran out on her. She got married again and that husband failed in bed. Finally, she put an ad in the paper: “Looking for a man who wont abuse me, wont leave me, and wont fail me in bed.” The next day, the doorbell rings.  There is a man with no arms and no legs. “Hello, I saw your ad in the paper,” he says. “Tell me a little about you.” “Well, I have no arms, so I cant hit you. I have no legs, so I cant run out on you,” he replies. “How do I know youre good in bed?” she asks. He says, “I rang the doorbell, didnt I?”

Apple hacked: Hackers steal plans for upcoming products

‘We recommend that Apple buy back the available data by 1 May,’ the hackers have said.

Apple is facing a ransomware demand after a group of cybercriminals stole confidential plans for the company’s upcoming products from a supplier.

The “Sodin” group, which makes and runs a piece of ransomware called REvil, says it stole the plans from Quanta Computer, a Taiwanese company that assembles a number of Apple laptops.

Like normal ransomware, REvil encrypts victims’ files and demands payment to receive the encryption key and recover the data. But Sodin has gone one step further, attempting to steal the files themselves and extort payment from those who have backups by threatening to publish confidential data.

According to a statement posted on the criminals’ dark web site – which they call the “Happy Blog” – Quanta refused to pay the ransom, leading the hackers to begin threatening the company’s customers.

“In order not to wait for the upcoming Apple presentations, today we, the REvil group, will provide data on the upcoming releases of the company so beloved by many,” the blog says. “Tim Cook can say thank you Quanta. From our side, a lot of time has been devoted to solving this problem.”

The hackers claim that among the stolen documents are plans for a pair of Apple laptops, a new Apple Watch and a new Lenovo ThinkPad. To back up their assertions, they have posted a set of blueprints for some products, including schematics for the new iMacs that the company launched on Tuesday.

The ransomware demand was initially posted just hours before the company’s launch event, and the hackers say they will release more documents every day, adding: “We recommend that Apple buy back the available data by 1 May.” A similar extortion attempt from the same group, aimed at Acer, demanded $50m in exchange for deleting the files.

Already, internet users have begun to pore over the details of the leaks, noting differences with the current models on sale: a new version of the MacBook Pro is shown without the company’s controversial “Touch Bar”, for instance, and a potential return of HDMI ports, SD card readers and MagSafe connectivity to the machine.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment.

Lifestyle

This is how it feels to be with a partner who goes on and off all the time.

With inconsistent partners, gloriously affectionate moments are closely followed by dumbfounding acts of disappearance.

One of the most gut-wrenching things that could ever happen to anyone is to have a partner who goes on and off; someone who is only consistent at being greatly inconsistent.

Many people are familiar with this relationship struggle, just like this young woman here, who tells Pulse about how her relationship has so far been a nerve-racking cycle of disappearances and reappearances by her boyfriend.

It must have been the same thing Simi was feeling when she composed her emotional song, “Gone For Good.”

With a partner that’s inconsistent, there are momentary flashes of all the beautiful things that you desire and treasure in a partner and in a relationship.

They know how to give you that thrill that borders on drug-induced ecstasy, and this is not just in a sexual context.

An inconsistent partner could be the babe with whom conversations are effortless, with whom romance is unforced; with whom sex is always like well-rehearsed ballet – gliding beautifully from step to step, from blissful level unto the next until a perfect crescendo is breathlessly attained. When a man you have been dating feels uncomfortable meeting your family members, then you should have a rethink.

An inconsistent partner could be the guy who does these same things and more. He weaves his life around yours so delicately; drawing you in with a foretaste of everything you long for in a partner. He’s the gentleman you want. He’s the broad shoulders to cry on that you’ve always desired. He’s the one whose face you see beside you when you imagine your big, Nigerian wedding. He’s so sweet, so nice, so charming and so… everything.
But that only tells part of the story with such people.

Whether it is with the inconsistent male or the female, what follows the gloriously affectionate moments are dreadful disappearing acts that leave you dumbfounded, starved, confused, crazy, empty and self-condemning.

Their attachment to you is in a way that makes it easy for them to untangle themselves after making you open up, trust, become tied to them, dependent on them for emotional balance and mindlessly slip into love with them.

“It is the most frustrating thing ever,” says Inem, a Lagosian who was in a relationship with an inconsistent partner for about a year.Inconsistent partners are never good for long, or bad forever. And it is this uncertainty that’s the major problem.

(Opinionated Male).

The first thing every inconsistent partner does to you is to leave you in a perpetual loop of frustration. You know what is obtainable. You know the amount of sweetness that partner is capable of, you have seen and experienced in some measure, the levels of romantic completeness that can be attained with that person but there’s only so little of it being offered to you that it drives you so, so crazy.

It’s like getting someone hooked on a drug and then depriving them of that drug. In this context, one of the withdrawal symptoms is frustration.
You cannot have them when you please. You only have them when they show up, and that is always at their discretion.

“I stayed too long in that relationship, I must say. But I knew I could no longer bear it when it was obvious I would never be able to depend on the guy.” says Inem. They keep you waiting for so long, but Inconsistent partners always come back.. or at least, try to.

Inconsistent partners always come back, most times when you are tired of their bull crap and have decided to move on.

They come with reasons and excuses and make promises to do better. Most times, their reasons are really not reasons. They glorify excuses that could be overcome with a little effort – like being busy, or losing a phone, or not having credit and so on and so forth.

Because they know you so well and know all the buttons to push, you find yourself giving them one more chance. And after that yet another chance, and another and yet another. You know it is unlikely that they’ll do better as promised but they’ll sound so convincing that you find yourself allowing them back in, even as something in you screams.

“You fool!”

What this regular cycle of disappearance, repentance, and reappearance does is that your mind becomes messed up. It becomes so difficult to tell what is right and what is not.I was ready to move on but then he showed up again… that’s exactly how inconsistent partners make you feel. [Credit – Shutterstock] ece-auto-gen

“I was ready to move on but then he showed up again. I do love him a lot and I don’t know what’s right or wrong now,” writes an anonymous Pulse reader to our agony aunt column – Relationship Talk With Bukky.

“This guy would disappear for days on end, and I’d be worried sick. He always came back with a different excuse all the time.” Inem says.
You find yourself wallowing in a pool of self-condemnation at some point. You wonder if you are too demanding, or whether you have too much of a chocking presence.

You’ll find yourself wondering if you are asking for too much, you’ll find yourself settling for more and more of their crap, losing self-respect just to get a little scraps of them because, somehow, regardless of their on-and-off nature, they manage to retain an incontestable ability power to feed your soul, excite your mind and set your body on fire. It’s such a crazy place to be.

With different inconsistent partners, the pattern may have little variations but you can be sure that underwhelming moments of loneliness will be hot on the heels of divine, giddy moments of true romance.

It may hurt to let him or her go, but that is exactly what has to be done with an inconsistent partner if you value your peace of mind. [Credit – Shutterstock] Rebound sex is simply the act of trying to drown out the ache and pain of a breakup with sex. [Credit – Shutterstock] Pulse Nigeria
A [difficult] way out
“The good news is, it is never too late to turn things around,” writes Aja Baise for Elite Daily.
“You can demand to be treated a certain way and hold firm to expectations you have set for a person.

You can stand by your relationship standards and wait for Mr. Right to come along, instead of trying filling a void with Mr. Wrong.

“Ultimately, you are faced with two choices: You can be the woman who wins and gets the incredible guy, or you can be the woman who keeps bending over backward for the inconsistent guy. That woman will always lose,” she adds.
Truer words on this haven’t been said.

Technology

Patrick George Quantson: Technology as a tool for overcoming social challenges

Evolving new ways of responding to and addressing social demands and problems has always been a key feature of every human society and even more in adversity as history teaches us.

As society evolves, the demands of the society and the structures needed to sustain the society also change, requiring the members of the society to fashion new and innovative ways in response to the changes.

In today’s world, technology has become an integral and ubiquitous part of our lives.
Technology has, in many ways, changed the way human beings interact with their environment to the extent that it is impossible, at the moment, to imagine a world without the benefits of technology and digital innovations.

One thing that remains key, however, is the opportunity technology provides for us to address social challenges and find solutions that make life easier and better.

The many opportunities provided by technology, aside from helping organizations to streamline their processes and improving efficiency for enhanced customer experience, have also served as catalysts for remedying wider challenges facing society, from healthcare to education to the very sustenance of society.

Technology has effectively removed physical obstacles that prevent people from engaging as members of a modern world.

Patrick George Quantson
One of the areas where the world has seen perhaps the most impact relative to leveraging the benefits of technology to solve social problems or respond to the demands of peculiar circumstances is education.

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic put a huge strain on traditional modes of teaching and learning.

Today, E-learning and smart classrooms are said to be ‘breaking down the walls of traditional classroom’ and opening new opportunities to both teachers and students.

Without the benefits of technology, society would have come to a hiatus. Technology provided the world a way out and a fluid way to continue the process of education albeit with some challenges.

Education will not be the same again as many curricular have become democratized for parents, guardians, and students alike to self-learn with very little supervision and accreditations.

Technology has been acknowledged in many ways as a critical enabler for poverty alleviation.
It has been argued that technology can help reduce poverty by creating jobs and allowing businesspeople in developing countries to reach a wider market through e-commerce.

Thus, having access to internet opens vast opportunities for people to empower themselves economically.
In Ghana currently, there are over 10,000 online businesses owned, in most cases, by young people.

And as data penetration increases, the awareness created by the pandemic will long remain in shaping up how small and big businesses gain access to markets and capital.

In healthcare, the benefits of technology have been enormous.
From diagnostics to treatment and management of diseases, technology continues to revolutionize healthcare delivery across the world.

The digitization of hospitals and other healthcare facilities is making healthcare delivery more efficient and convenient.
The benefit of electronic medical records is allowing hospital administrators and healthcare givers to access patient records from anywhere as well as interact with colleagues and patients no matter their location to give collaborative care.

Tele-medicine is also set to grow exponentially in the coming years to expand the reach of expert care globally.

The introduction of easy, fast, and convenient online payment systems is reducing the amount of time spent in hospitals and eliminating long and unbearable queues that usually characterize the settlement of bills in hospitals.

Apps and platforms such as the Health Pay App enable patients/guardians/ benefactors irrespective of their location to facilitate the payment of bills to allow either themselves or their beneficiaries receive the much-needed treatment as and when required.

In the important area of agriculture, technology has become the critical answer needed to respond to the dietary needs of the world’s ever-growing population.

The United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has predicted that by 2050, the world will need to produce 70% more of what the world is producing now to be able to effectively feed the people of the world.

Framers and agricultural companies are introducing farming technologies to be able to produce more and meet demands.

Technology has had a transformational effect on the world by providing a range of new ways to tackle some of the most pressing issues the world faces.

As the world evolves, so will the problems society face.
But in technology, the world can always find relevant and timely solutions to deal with whatever challenge comes our way.
