Meet the man who used his own money to construct an Asphalt road for his community.[Photos]

What he did is unforgettable. Residents at the North Celebrity Hill, Lashibi MF-Estate will never stop mentioning his name.

Philanthropist and a businessman, Mr. Atta Frimpong, who deals in cars of all kinds constructed a 2 kilometer road at the North Celebrity Hill, Lashibi MF-Estate in the Greater Accra Region.

He is the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Rounor Motors Limited.

He explained the hectic situation he had to go through before completing the road construction. He stated that he went for permit from the Authorities in charged and hired people who we expert in road construction to aid in the process.

After the construction was through, he stated emphatically that he did it candidly and had no intention writing a name for himself.

Mr. Frimpong said, “…I am not taking any money from government”. He explained that he did what he did following the President’s announcing this year as “the year of road”.

According to him he was intrinsically motivated after seeing the state of the road and that how come he was able to through all the toils in the completion of the project without giving up.

He explained that he doesn’t have too much but he did it with the little he had as he felt that the matter was one that required urgency.

 The road before.

He also denied all alleged accuses of having political ambitions following his unprecedented project.

“I’m a businessman and would like to remain that.

“I’m a Ghanaian and I have a good heart for the country…as I travel outside, I see other countries and I want my country to look beautiful.

He also urged other philanthropists to engage themselves in any ways possible to help the development of the country. “it takes two to be successful”.

“I want this to challenge others to do more…”

Below are some photos of him and the project;

Revealed: This is the only way ‘DUMSOR’ can end in Ghana.

The current common power outages in the country is much talked about by the citizenry. There have really not being a substantive reason for the situation left alone how it could be solved.

Stay with me through this article as I unpolitically reveal some potential reasons to end the current nightmare of the Ghanaian citizens with regards to the current power fluctuations.

Before we dealt into the main discussions, one thing is obviously clear that nothing just happens. Everything happens for a reason whether knowingly or otherwise and before that which has happened, if a problem, could be solved, the source or cause of that problem must be known.

Now with regards to the current situation before the entire citizenry of the Ghanaian populate, the first step that the sectors involved should have done was to open up to the citizens on what the cause of the power fluctuations were. This alone would have contributed in some way in the process of solving the problem.

Meanwhile the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) are rather demanding for an increment in tariffs without emphatically giving out the main cause of the problem to the citizenry.

That notwithstanding, the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, came close by attributing the current intermittent fluctuations to some exercise being done in upgrading some systems at the Pokuase and Kasoa suburbs.

Despite all these, one can attribute the cause to the ‘Free light and water’ offer that was given by the President Akufo-Addo some months back. We can not ague much with this reason since we really don’t have any other substantive reason to debate it with.

 THE CITIZENRY

On the other hand the Ghanaian citizenry could be the cause. There was a time that the ECG told that users of electricity should off certain gadget in the night while sleeping. Fridge, television, radios among others, but I personally had almost all the residents in my locality not complying. Their reason was fascinating though as they believe that the bill will not reflect whether or not they switch off those gadgets.

In agreement to that, could it be that there is some sort of cheat in the calculation of the billing? I certainly agree to some point. This is because there have being many situations where we paid a fixed price even if there were reductions in the use of the power supply.

The cause can also be strongly relate to the population growth and the introduction of more technological gadgets that uses more electricity power in their functioning. As more people build houses and transmit electricity, the burden on the power supply increase thereby putting pressure on the power supply which may contribute to power outages if a system is not developed to balance the situation.

 WHO COULD END ‘DUMSOR’

Sincerely speaking, no President can end the current intermittent power fluctuations. I solely believe that this is a collective work between the government and the people. Meanwhile the greater work is on the side of the people.

On this note let us desist from blaming one government after the other and do the needful even as the government is doing it part.

If you have ever thought of voting against ‘DUMSOR’ in the 2024 election then you are literally saying you want to vote against any mindset in you that contributes to the cause of the problem.

I don’t believe it will ever be the joy of the President to see the country in such power mess. Politics aside and let us face the truth, we are the cause of our own plague.

Meet Sabronum-Nyamebekyere D/A Primary: The entire school with only one teacher.

Ghana has a rich culture which is shaped to perfect by the introduction of formal education. Currently the country has one of the best if not the best of all educational curriculum in the whole of Africa and could even secure acomodation on the international billboard.

Meanwhile there are some few challenges encountered by the country’s educational system —some which could be attributed to inadequate teachers, inadequate teaching resources, inadequate classroom blocks among others.

A situation on the grounds now has to do with Sabronum-Nyamebekyere D/A Primary school, where only one teacher is covering all classes at the moment. Meanwhile there is inadequate classroom block and this caught the attention of the community members to put up a mud structure which is currently in a dilapidated state.

The only teacher currently present at the school is Adelaide Benewaa Adusei. Once she is attending to a particular class, all other classes would have to wait until the period is over. The only time she has to rest is when it is break time.

 ESTABLISHMENT

The school, Sabronum-Nyamebekyere D/A Primary was set up by Mad. Adelaide Benewaa Adusei, the only teacher present. According to her she had to set up the school due to the long distance the wards had to walk before attending school at other communities.

“I decided to set up the school after I saw the difficulty the students were going through before getting to school in other areas”.

 POSTING

She was posted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to a school in a different community but closer to Sabronum-Nyamebekyere, where she stayed. She started the school as a private institutions.

Meanwhile the government intervened in 2019 and the school had to become a public institution. But there hasn’t being any posted facilitator to supplement her in the teaching and learning process ever since the the government took possession.

CLASSES

Since the GES reposted her to Sabronum-Nyamebekyere D/A Primary, she now takes care of five classes at the same time.

She said that she had to organize some members of the class to lead an activity as they wait for their lesson period.

 DIFFICULTIES

 1. The mud structure is in deterioration and this contributes to the unfortunate closure of school whenever there is rain-pour.

 2. The entire community has one toilet which is also used by these students and this is not helping to promote the teaching and learning process as Students might take longer time to ease themselves before returning for lessons.

 3. Snakes and other harmful animals use to visit the classrooms and this scare of a lot of the students.

 4. That notwithstanding, she has to close the school anytime there is a meeting to attend;

 a. “Sometimes, teaching becomes very difficult when there is an official meeting going on at the district level. In that case, I would have to close the kids and attend the meeting or at times I become late for the meeting. Sometimes when I am sick, teaching becomes difficult because I am not able to help the children to learn.”

 b. “When that happens, I just have to sit down in class or absent myself and ask the children not to come to school at all. Also, as the only teacher and the substantive headteacher here, I don’t have textbooks to help me carry out my work. Our classroom block is a mud structure. Sometimes we find snakes in between some walls due to cracks that have developed in them”.

INTERVENTION

Mr. Michael Anabiga had promised to employ another person to supplement Mad. Adelaide in the teaching and learning process. Mr. Michael is the Assembly member of the area.

“As an assembly member, I decided to engage the services of two other persons to teach to assist the only teacher especially when she is absent. Not long ago after the COVID-19 outbreak, one of them gained admission into the university, so he left,” he said.

He also stated that, “… the other person also was admitted into a tertiary institution. He would be leaving at the end of this month. On this note, we are appealing to the government to come in to assist us. Not only the government, non-governmental organizations or private individuals who have the zeal to help should kindly intervene”.

Meet the man who has used his pocket money to construct a 2Km Asphat Road at Lashibi.

It is not something that is seen on the regular day, as a man will construct a road exclusively.

Meanwhile one Philanthropist has done the semi-impossible. Mr. Atta Frimpong is a business man who deals in cars of all kinds. He is the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Rounor Motors Limited.

 Road Construction

Mr. Frimpong has constructed a 2km road at the North Celebrity Hill, Lashibi MF-Estate. He went through all the various process necessary for the construction of a road, according to him.

He said he contacted the Road construction authorities and was given one contactor, Emmanuel Odai who led the project. After the first coat, he contacted another contractor who was expert in the construction of Asphat to furnish the the final stage.

Meanwhile he also made two drainages sideways which runs through the 2km asphat road.

Speaking on Anopa Bɔfoɔ on Angel television, Mr. Frimpong said, “…I am not taking any money from government”. He explained that he did what he did following the President’s announcing this year as “the year of road”.

According to him he was intrinsically motivated and that how come he was able to through all the toils in the completion of the project.

 POLITICAL AMBITION

After being asked whether he had any Political ambition following the project, he denied.

“I’m a Ghanaian and I have a good heart for the country…as I travel outside, I see other countries and I want my country to look beautiful.

“I’m a businessman and would like to remain that.

He has also urge the general public to engage themselves in any ways possible to help the development of the country. He said that “it takes two to be successful”.

“I want this to challenge others to do more…”

TOP 10 most beautiful places in the world – check out the city at number one.

Beauty as they say is in the eyes of the beholder. Check out these amazing places to be whenever you fell like traveling.

1. Venice, Italy

Venice, the city on the sea, is the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea.

It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces

If traversing the canals with a be-striped gondolier sounds unbearably touristy, stick to the sidewalks and spectacular arched bridges to get your fill of this truly unique, wildly romantic floating city.

2. Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru. Machu Picchu is believed (by Richard L. Burger) to have been built in the 1450s.

This World Heritage site is easily the most famous spot in Peru, and for good reason.

The ancient terraced city’s astounding architecture and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains will leave you breathless (as might the nearly 8,000 foot elevation.) Aside Nzulezo,Ghana, and Vinice, Italy, this is the second place I would love to visit.

3. Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast is a popular tourist destination for the region and Italy as a whole, attracting thousands of tourists annually.

There are so many beautiful places in Italy it’s hard to pick just one, but the Amalfi Coast’s idyllic hillside towns, like Positano, bump it to the top of our must-see list.

4. Bagan, Myanmar

Bagan is an ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar.

From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Pagan Kingdom, the first kingdom that unified the regions that would later constitute Myanmar.

This ancient city in central Myanmar is made up of thousands (yes, thousands) of Buddhist temples and pagodas. One of the prettiest views is from above—we recommend going for a hot air balloon ride at sunrise.

5. Paris, France

Paris, France’s capital, is a major European city and a global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture.

Its 19th-century cityscape is crisscrossed by wide boulevards and the River Seine.

It’s hard not to fall in love with a city like Paris. Every arrondissement is full of postcard-worthy architecture, idyllic city parks seem to outnumber the people and the food! Even that’s beautiful.

6. Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel-colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge.

Situated on a series of hills over the Tagus River, Portugal’s scenic capital is brimming with magnificent views, pastel-colored buildings and charming yellow streetcars.

7. New York City, New York

New York City comprises 5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers.

Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park.

We couldn’t help adding our hometown to this list. While New York is undeniably noisy and crowded, don’t knock it until you’ve watched the sunset over the Manhattan skyline–which is just plain beautiful.

8. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is known for its art and architecture. The fantastical Sagrada Família church and other modernist landmarks designed by Antoni Gaudí dot the city.

Museu Picasso and Fundació Joan Miró feature modern art by their namesakes. City history museum MUHBA, includes several Roman archaeological sites.

Barcelona is the largest city in Catalonia and has over a dozen Antoni Gaudí installations scattered throughout.

The most famous being Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, this city is perfect for any fan of Catalan modernism.

9. Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Bora Bora is a small South Pacific island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Surrounded by sand-fringed motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon protected by a coral reef, it’s known for its scuba diving.

It’s also a popular luxury resort destination where some guest bungalows are perched over the water on stilts.

With turquoise lagoons, coral reefs and over-water bungalows, this small island in the South Pacific is basically heaven on Earth.

10. Marrakesh, Morocco

Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens.

The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.

Located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakesh has changed little since the Middle Ages. You could spend days here wandering around maze-like alleyways discovering the city’s colorful souks, palaces and gardens.

Which of these places would you like to visit?
